Overall size: W28 x D19 x H30 cm Daniel Arsham (b. 1980, Cleveland, USA) is a contemporary visual artist based in New York whose multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, architecture, drawing, and film. Renowned for his concept of “fictional archaeology”, Arsham creates works that blur the boundaries between past, present, and future. His signature sculptures transform everyday objects and cultural icons into eroded relics, crafted from materials such as sand, selenite, and volcanic ash. These imagined artefacts appear as though they were excavated centuries ago, offering a compelling vision of time, memory, and cultural preservation. Drawing inspiration from the technologies and symbols of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, Arsham explores themes of obsolescence, permanence, and collective nostalgia. His work combines elements of pop culture, contemporary design, and romanticism, inviting viewers to reconsider familiar objects through the lens of history and imagination.
